Fred Thompson Has Cancer

Marshall Manson and Jim Geraghty believe that Fred Thompson’s public announcement on Neil Cavuto’s show that he has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a sure sign that he’s running for president.

The logic strikes me as sound. If he’s not running, it’s nobody’s business. Plus, he was diagnosed years ago and is only now mentioning.

Marshall’s right, too, that getting this out now rather than after an announcement of candidacy is shrewd politics. Then again, that’s not surprising. As Mike Krempasky notes, “Everyone knows that Fred Thompson won’t take a dump without a plan.” *

I follow politics, but I can honestly say I had no idea, no inkling of an idea, not even the faintest shadow of an idea that Fred Thompson won't take a dump without a plan.

Thinking about it, I realise that for the vast majority of my years, I to have had a plan when I take a dump. The plan usually involved the smallest room in my house or its equivalent and a quick check for soft paper on a roll.

The surest sign he is running is if he pays off some 20 year old parking tickets.
