Gore Planning to Enter the Democratic Fray?

Via the Telegraph:Gore campaign team assembles in secret
Friends of Al Gore have secretly started assembling a campaign team in preparation for the former American vice-president to make a fresh bid for the White House.Two members of Mr Gore’s staff from his unsuccessful attempt in 2000 say they have been approached to see if they would be available to work with him again.
Well, more accurately it was a secret. This looks like a trial balloon, although I must confess that the foreign press is an odd place to float one.
I would not be surprised if Gore got into the race, and I think he would leap into the top tier. He obviously has name recognition and fund-raising capabilities. Further, he would create such a buzz that the media exposure would be immense. However, none of that guarantees an ability to win the nomination.
It will be interesting to see how this develops (assuming that it does).

Maybe this is a backdoor bid to get the VP nod under Clinton, a southern liberal, and if they win eventually run for president against Bush, a hugely successful southern governor.
Oh wait didn't he already do that? No, no, that was Bill and George, not Hilary and Jeb.
A man who can't carry his home state would seem to me to be a pretty poor choice of VP. 2008 is going to be an interesting year for politics junkies.
