Gravatars, Activate!

WordPress now supports Gravatars organically (a function of Automaticc, the parent company of the former, having acquired the latter) so I’ve had OTB’s comments section tweaked to support them. So, go sign up for a free one if you want to have a distinguishing logo displayed next to your comments.
(Gravatars are populated based on email addresses so, if you’re using a fake email address on your blog comments for some odd reason, add that fake account to your Gravatar account.)
UPDATE: For the time being, at least, the Gravatars will only display on the individual post page, not the comment dropdown. That’s part of a different module and modifying it is likely more trouble than it’s worth.

WP 2.6 in a few days will give you more options for the "default" gravatar too so you can get rid of the ugly grey John Doe at that point. :)
Sheesh, I just updated to 2.51 a couple weeks ago! I've got all my blog user databases tied together so have to do multiple updates, complete with plugin bug testing and fixing, each time I upgrade versions.
Interestingly, my gravatar is not showing up. Since I'm integrating this for you, I'll figure out why but there seems to be a slight issue here. Regardless, folks who want to be "dressed up" should definitely get a gravatar. :)

Automattic is more like WordPress' child than its parent. WordPress came first, then Automattic. Automattic is WordPress' "patron" in that they devote server resources to hosting its code and development tools, and many of its employees do WordPress development. Many other companies have employees that contribute and enjoy a symbiotic relationship with the WordPress project.
Regarding 2.6 -- I wouldn't worry. It's a much lesser upgrade than 2.3.x or 2.5.x, and is much less likely to cause problems.

Good to know on 2.6. I went directly from 2.23 to 2.51, which was quite a leap.
Is anyone else noting some weirdness when trying to copy from a comment? It will let me select text, but won't allow me to put what I select into the clipboard.

Hmm. Not having that issue....
Bithead: I use an alternative clipboard (the free 'Clipboard Recorder') and don't have the problem you're finding.
Hmmm. I'll look a bit closer. It may be just ths browser here at work. Let you know.
