Gregory McDonald, R.I.P.
Gregory McDonald, author of the Fletch books, passed away yesterday:
Gregory Mcdonald, whose best-selling “Fletch” mystery books also were made into films, has died, according to his manager. He was 71.Mcdonald died Sunday at his farm in Pulaski, Tennessee, about 60 miles southwest of Nashville, according to Mcdonald’s manager, Dan List. List said Wednesday that Mcdonald had been diagnosed with cancer.
I’ve always been a big fan of the Fletch and Flynn novels, which are entertaining and endlessly re-readable, even when you do know the solution to the mystery. McDonald had a great ear for dialogue that made his books a joy to read. My condolences to his family.
