Harry Whittington, Man Shot by Cheney, Out of Hospital

Harry Whittington, who will forever be known as “the man shot by Dick Cheney,” has been released from the hospital

The hunter shot by Vice President Dick Cheney said it ”was just an accident” and reassured investigators alcohol was not involved, according a county sheriff’s report. In Texas, Harry Whittington is scheduled to make a public statement Friday afternoon outside Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Memorial where he is being treated.

The 78-year-old attorney ”explained foremost there was no alcohol during the hunt and everyone was wearing the proper hunting attire of blaze orange,” reported Kenedy County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Gilberto San Miguel Jr.

The county sheriff’s office closed its investigation without filing any charges. The department’s report supported Cheney’s account of the accident that injured the 78-year-old lawyer during a quail hunting trip on a private ranch in Texas.

I’m glad to hear that he’s okay. It was certainly a trying week.

His statement was broadcast live on Bloomberg TV.

I laughed my head off when he expressed his sympathy to Dick Cheney and his family for all the trouble they went through this last week. Poor Dick Cheney. He shoots his friend in the face with a shotgun and his friend feels Cheney is the one in need of sympathy.

Cheney is not man enough to take the heat that goes with taking responsibity for his actions; and good Republican Party member are just plain syncophats to there beloved leaders.

The last time we saw people acting like this was when the Communist Party ruled the soviet union.

The heat only goes with the responsibility in Kens mind only. And, Kens mind is far away on the other side of Pluto or out there somewhere.

GA Phillips.

You are right on, but there are a lot better words that fit Ken more appropriately, like Leach, coward, lover of terrorist. and just plain ass***e.

Ken is NOT an American.

OK, this is hilarious.

Cheney's victem did not just express sympathy for Cheneys troubles but he actually apologized to him by saying he was 'sorry' for all the trouble Cheney and his family had this last week because Cheney shot him in the face with a shotgun.

Yeah. That's what friends do. Unlike 50% of crazed Americans, Harry knows it was an accident.

LJD is right. And, while getting shot is horrible, one suspects being the guy who accidentally shot one's friend is indeed worse. Whittington is out of the hospital but Cheney will have the images of this with him until the day he dies.

I watched the CNN video of Mr. Whittington delivering his prepared remarks. I thought he was a very gracious gentleman whose world goes far beyond his own misfortunes, sympathizing with the VP's embarrassment and complimenting the medical staff that cared for him.

We could use more men like him and less of that a**wipe ken.

Wonder if Cheney is haunted by images of innocent Iraqi's killed in Bush's war. Somehow I doubt it.

With each comment the point that Republicans are sycophants becomes clearer for all to see. The rest of us are just laughing our heads off at you guys.

Not nearly as much as we laugh at you and the other Koz kids.

Too bad for all the Dem trolls. I know how disappointed you are in the man's improving health. Well you can always go back to hoping some other Americans die.

Now all the reporters, Ken and the other Dems, can go home from their "Death Watch" at the hospital where Whittington was treated.

They were flying around there like vultures.

Please notice I classified Ken with reporters. they are like 2 peas in a pod. Low lifes.
