Bill Jempty is thankful that our TSA professionals are protecting us from the possibility that Ohio State running back Troy Smith might hijack an airplane using his Heisman Trophy.

Something about this story doesn't seem right.
Where would you put the trophy? It won't go underneath the seat and is probably too heavy to be put in the overhead bins. If it fell out...
Did he try to buy a seat for it? Did he actually take it to the airport and try to get it on or did he call and ask? If I were being asked about it I would recommend shipping it as well.
Why so much indignation now when pre-9/11 Eddie George had his trophy sent through x-ray. Was Eddie George smuggling something in his trophy?
Like I said, too many holes in this story. Sounds like a simple story blown into something to make people look stupid and create a story.
I wonder what would happen if I tried to take a bronze statue as carry on? If I couldn't do it why should he get a pass?
Think of the heft that thing has.
And I suspect that used properly, you could use to take an eye out!
Well, according to the story, Eddie's trophy got dented & lost a finger going through the x-ray. I guess the TSA guys in NY must be basketball fans...

I mean this is just as rediclous as confiscatiing those tiny little guns that come with the litle action figures i mean YOU CANT FLY LIKE A EAGLE WHEN YOUR WORKING FOR TURKEYS and the turkeys are in charge of the airports
