From where I am in Australia, it seems bleeding obvious to me that Hillary can/should/will be next President. After Commander Cuckoo Bananas even a modicum of competence in the White House will be welcome indeed. Let's hope it's contagious.

Thing is, YAJ, she can't get on the November ballot to attract the votes of those moderate Democrats and independents, unless she can get the Democratic nomination.

Hillary's already despised by the "netroots," the more so since snuggling up to Darth Murdoch.

Her husband demonstrated there was still a keyhole through which an electable Democrat could get the party's nomination. Since then, though, I think most voters have become skeptical of anyone who exhibits that kind of slithery political skill. And discipline is no substitute for instincts.

A statement like this pushes her towards winning the oval office much more than the shrillest Feingold call for impeachment. To win, the democrats HAVE to either persuade enough of those who have voted for Bush to say they were wrong or offer a way to bridge between their previous votes and a 2008 vote for a democrat. Now admitting that Bush is not evil incarnate in all things is not a huge step, but it is a step in the right direction. The question is how will the far left react and will they lead a "digital lynch mob" to correct her apostasy?
