In 2004 a liberal friend and I had lunch on election day. We were well passed the point of pointing out the flaws in the others candidates or stellar capabilities in our candidate. So we played a game of what information would cause you to stop supporting Kerry/Bush. I went first and said that credible information that Bush had fallen off the wagon and wasn't getting back on would very reluctantly make me conclude that Kerry would be better than Bush. The liberal thought for a while and came back with essentially the same scenario that if Kerry was an alcoholic and off the wagon, he would switch to Bush.

So I am happy to here that there is at least something that saint Obama could do that would cause Alex to put down the koolaide.

In any event, I figure you're safe. If Obama's the one Interpol is looking for, suffice it to say that the pics they've been passing around are significantly over-exposed.

On the other hand, we've never seen pictures of them together....

The rumor mill I've been hearing is that Hillary will try and force herself into the VP slot, which would let her drop out before WV, which would prevent a win for her in WV from being a negative to Obama.

After how the race has been run though, I'm not sure there's anything she can do to make Obama take her in.

Given that she just loaned her campaign $6.4 million and is publicly vowing to fight on, I think she continues.

She loaned her campaign that money over the course of the last month, not since the results of yesterday's election. She's probably spent it all by now too.

If she dropped out now, is there any chance she would still win WV and/or KY, where she leads big? I wonder if that would be worse for Obama than to just be declared the knockout winner after taking Oregon.

Kos was thinking the very same thing this morning, urging Hillary to not drop out until after West Virginia.

Given that she just loaned her campaign $6.4 million and is publicly vowing to fight on, I think she continues. She is in the same position she was weeks ago going into Texas. She isn't going to win based on pledged delegates, but then neither is Obama. Both have to win superdelegates. To do that, Obama had to stumble. His fumbles with clinging to bitter and Wright hurt him but not enough (to many on the left agree with Obama on clinging to guns/religion and Wright's condemnation of America).

The real question is what would it take to move Obama out of the way for Hillary? Obviously a major health issue like a heart attack is one possibility, but not likely. Obama opening his mouth an confirming he is a down the line liberal would hurt him in the general election, but not the democratic primary. It would take something like a youtube clip of Obama with a child prostitute in Thailand to really sink him. Even then people like Alex would explain how irrelevant and tiresome it is to discuss a candidates choice in sexual matters rather than the real issues like if you could find hidden meaning in the words of a minor McCain aids speech that even Alex thinks is not believable when he is pointing it out.
