Hillary Convention Speech: I Question the Timing

It’s 10:13 Eastern time and Hillary Clinton hasn’t spoken yet.  Granting that large numbers of people live in other time zones, it strikes me as awfully odd that they saved the premier speech of the night for so late.

Perhaps she insisted on a 3 a.m. speaking time?

"sisterhood of the traveling pantsuits"....I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Though, seeing the closeup of William saying "iloveyou iloveyou iloveyou" was a swell touch.

Good speach...FOR HILLARY...I'd bet camp Obama is a bit miffed. Not once did I hear "Obama is ready to lead". Tamer than I thought on McCain too.

Again, party unity...heh...heh-heh.

They were the same last night. Perfectly reasonable for mountain time. Next time they'll have the convention in California and you'll be up all night.

As an Obama supporter, I am very happy with Hillary's speech. Hillary really developed her game over the course of the primary season, and guess who she has in her cross-hairs. Mavrick Sidekick McCain...

Whatever else on may say about Sen. Clinton, she went where no woman has gone before. My hat is off to her tonight.

Agree with anjin, Hillary's speech did what it had to do for both her and Obama. Message: I still think I should be giving the speech on Thursday, but my "supporters" who are going to vote for McCain, give me a break.

And who knew that Bob Casey would end up with the line of the convention: Not a maverick, but a sidekick -- brilliant!

Again, party unity...heh...heh-heh.

I guess you missed her saying "Barack Obama is my candidate. And he must be our president"

But then, I don't really think that the target audience is a bunch of right wingers who hold the woman in contempt anyway.

My hat is off to her tonight.

Indeed. I think we'll see a Republican party nomination for a woman for president somewhere north of the next millennium.

A Republican party presidential nomination for a person of color sometime around 4040.

Again, party unity...heh...heh-heh.

"I guess you missed her saying "Barack Obama is my candidate. And he must be our president""

Yeah...screams sincere unity. You'd have to be the dimmest bulb in the box to believe it. 50% of the talk this week is "what will Hill say" NOT what is the party message. Hell, earlier in the day William took another shot at CampO. United?, dream on.

Well, considering that virtually 100% of the chattering class are low grade morons who were the geeks that high school jocks beat up on to sublimate their homosexual tendencies, this is hardly surprising, isn't it? I mean, they have to have *something* to talk about - it's their job.

Given that the intersection between McCain and pretty much anything a feminist Clinton supporter agrees upon is essentially the null set, the only thing you have to hope for is that they stay home. Given that Clinton supporters are all abortion rights supporters across the board and McCain has shamelessly debased himself before the anti-abortion plank of the party line, you had better be hoping McCain chooses a pro-abortion running mate.

Of course, when that happens, Limbaugh, et. al., will go super critical and the resulting thermo nuclear explosion at the Republican convention will make this trivial affair over Clinton supporters look like a gentle caress with a feather by a naughty lover.

Careful what you laugh at... McCain is teeing up next week. Let's wait until the card is completely filled in before we start scoring who had the worst convention.

And how sad is it you have to open your convention by A) redefining your wife's image and pretty much waste two hours of prime time and B) having Hillary attempt to persuade her constituents to vote for CampO and if they don't go C.O. is toast...and they don't wanna go. C) in the same week you had to pick a loose cannon to fill a vast void in the foreign policy dyke.

.....aaaaallllllrighty then....you are right, Hill for best supporting actor.

a vast void in the foreign policy dyke.

See, it's those Freudian "slips" which give you away.

""a vast void in the foreign policy dyke.

Well, so far i've heard multiple low grade moron TV geeks saying essentially what i've said as far as Hill being in it for Hill....and for that matter Bill being in it for Bill n' Hill, but they are probably brain dead from the massive beatings by the mo's.

Fear not, Kos kids bring it in depth:

"People going nuts. It's Clinton's night. Courtesy of Obama. His gift to her, maybe.

Amazing moment for party unity. If the repubs are listening, they will sh*t."

So there's that....
Obama/Biden 08', contrived unity

She certainly is no natural speaker

"She certainly is no natural speaker"

She would probably be an asset if she didn't bellow in monotone...it's like nails on a chalk board...or chewing on a ball of tin foil. You would think she would work on that.

contrived unity

Is there any other form?

"contrived unity

Poor choice of words on my part. There appears to be no natural unity within. If there was you wouldn't have to trot out people to tell delagates it is so.

Still a poor choice of words, I think. There is no such thing as a "natural" unity between individuals.
