Huckabee’s Chuck Norris Ad (Video)

I rolled my eyes a couple weeks ago when Chuck Norris endorsed Mike Huckabee for president. I mean, I like Norris and all, but I’m not going to base my voting decisions on his recommendations.

I must admit, though, that this ad is an instant classic:

“Chuck Norris doesn’t endorse, he tells America how it’s going to be,” indeed.

Alex Massie pronounces it “by far and away the best advertisement of this interminable presidential election campaign.” As an avid TiVo’er who starts fast forwarding at the first hint of an advertisement, I can’t say that’s true without reservation but it’s certainly the best I’ve seen. Indeed, only the Bill Richardson “job interview” ads come close.

Garance Franke-Ruta says “it’s totally brilliant and very funny, while also the kind of thing that makes you put your head in your hands and wonder about the future of democracy.”

Me, I’ve long stopped wondering. Still, I think this is meant to be funny rather than surreal.
