Iceland Melts While New Europe Burns
In recent days, we’ve seen rioting and unrest in Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Hungary and the collapse of the government in Iceland — all directly related to the global financial crisis.
In a New Atlanticist piece, “Security Implications of the Financial Crisis,” I wonder what it all means, including my colleague Jim Townsend’s dire comparison to the last time we saw such political upheaval in Europe.
