IDI AMIN: ROOM TEMPERATURE

Idi Amin’s passing overnight brings no mourners. The only regret is that he got to die of natural causes:

Amin had thousands of enemies, many of whom were not saddened by the news of his death.

`”Good,” responded a spokesman for the current Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. “His death and burial will signal the end of our bad past.”

The Rt Rev Dr John Sentamu, the Anglican Bishop of Birmingham, called it a “tragedy” that Amin was not brought to justice.

Indeed.

The things you learn on NPR: Amin first came to prominence as Uganda’s heavyweight boxing champion. I did not know that.

Note that Anglicans in Africa are worried about dictators who have f***ed them in the a**. Here in the US, Anglicans (Episcopalians) are just worried about f***ing in the a**.

Is that too crude for this site?
