As an interesting experiment, OTB is participating in a cross-blog Iowa Caucus live chat. Comments entered in the window below will appear simultaneously on several other sits, including The Palmetto Scoop, Flopping Aces, and Mike’s America.
I’m not thrilled with the interface, which strikes me as rather garish and spammy, but it is, as they say, what it is.

User tips:
- To turn off the coming and going alert, click the blue feet above the text box.
- To mute offensive commenters, click their name in the right hand side bar.
- To shut off chat sounds, click the bell above the chat text entry screen.
About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

So did you folks enjoy the live chat?
It got a little crazy with so many people chatting at once, but what fun would a party be if only a handful of folks showed up?
If there's enough interest, we'll do it again for New Hampshire.
