Jennifer Love Hewitt to Do Nude Playboy Shoot?

The Star tabloid is reporting that Jennifer Love Hewitt is considering posing nude for Playboy magazine in order to arouse the interests of casting directors and thrust her career toward edgier roles.
Star is behind a subscription wall but the Post-Chronicle is among several sources with this excerpt:
Jennifer has received some really big-bucks offers for years from magazines, including Playboy, to pose nude,” but she has always laughed off the idea … She told me that maybe a sexy magazine layout with her showing her assets might give her a little edgier image and she might be considered for a femme fatale role. She knows she can pull it off, but she thinks casting directors aren’t so sure.
Victorino Matus who, like myself is married and thus has no interest in seeing nude photos of Jennifer Love Hewitt, nonetheless takes a paternalistic interest in her career.
I have always thought Jennifer Love Hewitt was enormously talented. She’s been endowed with qualities other actresses can only envy. But it seems she wants to be taken more seriously–as if we don’t take her seriously on CBS–and thinks posing for Playboy will do the trick.
Honestly, I don’t know if it would lead her to better roles and more respect, which she certainly deserves. But it might work. And so I support her in this noble quest in the hopes it will boost her career.
In fact, I’m praying for it. Her success, I mean.
An anonymous commenter on his post using the clever pseudonym “Anomymous” offers an excellent pun involving Hewitt and the Golden Globes.
The proprietor of What Would Tyler Durden Do? posts several photos of Ms. Hewitt, all of which feature at least some clothing. He believes she has so far not made full use of her enormous talents and is not sure whether, at the advanced age of 26, she can overcome this past pattern and her “dorkiness.”
He also expresses some confusion about how he might employ a Playboy photo layout featuring Hewitt. I shall spare you the details.

One of the better comments by Ms. Love-Hewitt was about her obvious talents, where she referred to them as the perfect accessories to any outfit.

She needs to pose, if not for herself, then for the children of the world. For if she refuses, then the terrorists have indeed won.
