Job Search, Redux

Thanks very much to everyone who has expressed their support on my sudden entry into the job market. I’ve gotten several potential leads, some useful advice, and several people who asked for résumés to show around. I’ve been in this boat a couple of times before and never had this type of network to plug into; I’m surprised and certainly pleased by the level of response.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

James, I sure hope you're gonna have better luck than I've been having.
I have been back to work for about 2 years, but I had been laid off just a couple of months prior to 9/11, just when the economy was tanking. I was off eleven months, so I can have some empathy to your situation. I hope you are able to find something you like soon. Good Luck.

Hang on tight and you'll make it. You can always freelance-write, can't you? I'd think you'd have some good publishing contacts to tide you over until you get nailed down to something. Just a thought.
