I'm not sure if you've already covered it, but why exactly is Arnold Schwarzenegger the rational choice? He has no political experience and while that it's possible to learn on the job, California's current situation requires someone who is going to get people to work together to bring about real reform and results. I'm not sure Arnold is that person. But hey, what do I know. I could be wrong!

Arnold would be okay, because he has a business background and is smart enough to know what he doesn't know. He would get himself some excellent advisors--probably including Dick Riordan (my own personal first choice) who has stated that he will not run if Arnold does.

They are both "RINOs," but they are smart guys. Either of them would likely be able to pull us back from the abyss.

Ursula,

I'm being a little flippant. But if the alternatives are the Huffingtons, Michael Savage, or Gary Condit...

Dumbest Ideas Ever
James Joyner has the story on Gary Condit possibly running for the Governor's job in California. That's as preposterous as Al Sharpton running for president. Thanks to James, and Starhawk earlier for adding to the pledge total......
