Ken Lay Dies Of Heart Attack

Via CNNMoney.com:

Enron founder Kenneth Lay died early Wednesday in Aspen, a family spokeswoman said. He was 64.

In a statement, spokeswoman Kelly Kimberly said, “The Lays have a very large family with whom they need to communicate, and out of respect for the family we will release further details at a later time.”

In May, Lay was found guilty of nine counts of fraud and conspiracy related to the collapse of Enron, the company he founded that grew into the seventh largest company before it imploded after an accounting scandal.

UPDATE: More via Reuters.

It'll be interesting to watch the race of the sewer, as far as reactions go. Which side of the 'sphere will get there first, I wonder?

He was a thieving lying scumbag regardless of his political orientations! I think they should bury him in the prison graveyard and collect the insurance payments and give them to ex-employees!

...case in point.....

Bithead: Didn't take long, eh? Sure, Lay was pretty scummy, but I wouldn't have ever wished death on him.

I'm sorry, but would someone please tell us the BC (Bithead Correct) way to respond to the death of a wicked, greedy man? Should we send flowers?

Michael is correct. Save the wishing death on people for the Zarqawi-types.

And Lay dying really is a shame because he never got to spend a night in prison. Consider it an ironic form of sentence commutation.

Lay got off easy. Now if Skilling were to drop dead too, then it'll be really interesting.

And yet somehow we conservatives are the violent ones.

Oh, I dunno.
How should we respond to the death of Bill Clinton? Ted Kennedy? Howard Dean? Banjocat?

Your label process seems selective, Anderson.

What you fail to reckon with is the concept that capticalists are actually WORSE than Zarqawi in the minds (?) of some. Thus the reaction we see.

And yet somehow we conservatives are the violent ones.

Yes. The double standards employed are shocking.

Anybody want to help me figure this one out?

Ken Lay was a great guy who just happened to defraud on a gigantic scale & ruin the livelihoods of hundreds of people?

I'm just waiting to see if it was really a heart attack, or a vote of no-confidence in his appellate counsel.

Hey bithead...where did I suggest or wish violence on him...I would much rather he was alive and being raped in prison for the next 7 years...but just because he has died, he is not suddenly absolved of his sins. And it is amazing how you could misread a 30 words...did your lips get tired while reading? If this is conservative intelligence it is no wonder the country is in trouble!

Do you ever read what you say?

More evidence of the compassion of the left. Maybe they can dig up his grave and descrate his corpse?
