Late Night OTB – Neville and Jones

The recent interblog discussion of cover songs brought to mind this Aaron Neville remake of “The Grand Tour,” the only instance I can think of someone re-doing a classic George Jones tune and making it better:

For comparison’s sake, the Possum’s version is available here. It comes with some, um, creative video courtesy “roadwarrior3204.”

What can he not sing?

Maybe Lou Reed?

Well, despite the imagery of the George version, his is far better, in my opinio.

I'm not a huge fan of Aaron. I'd like to hear him sing without a girly whine in his voice, just once. Admittedly, he does the voice crack and whine very well.

But George's deep, manly voice is more to my liking. Particularly on such and emo song. I can only accept so much emo out of a man and Aaron passes that threshold with this song.
