McCain ‘Well Done’ Ad

The McCain team spent the day touting a commerical spot that they’ll be running during and around Barack Obama’s acceptance speech tonight.  The ad, named “Convention Night,” turns out to be a nice one:

Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America.

Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations.

How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day. Tomorrow, we’ll be back at it. But tonight Senator, job well done.

I’m John McCain and I approved this message.

A gracious gesture.

A gracious gesture.

Indeed.

Will the real John McCain stand up, or will he sell his soul for the brass ring and be swallowed by the Rove machine?

I'm curious how much air time that ad actually got, 'cause it's not what I'm seeing on TV in Cleveland. I'm mostly seeing the ad using Hillary Clinton right now.

Did anyone actually see this "ad"? In my part of Fla, where I think it would run, I didn't see it. (Although I was surfing) But did anyone actually see it on the TV? An if not, don't the TV people actually catch on? (Actually don't bother with that question.)

It ran in San Francisco, but clearly, California is not in play.

Clearly, McCain couldn't figure out any other way to spend all the money he needs to before the convention.

In my part of Florida, NBC, who ran almost uninterrupted coverage for the DNC from Monday through Wednesday, preempted Obama's acceptance speech (all of last night's DNC, actually) for a pre-season football game. Priorities. I wonder if McCain's commercial ran in the middle of that.
