Meathead Resigns

Rob Reiner has resigned from the First 5 California Children and Families Commission. Why? Well because it looks like he has mis-used state funds in promoting yet another pet project of his.

Legislators from both political parties said Reiner, an outspoken Democrat, improperly spent $23 million of commission funds to highlight preschool when he was promoting a referendum for the June 2006 ballot that would guarantee preschool for 4-year-olds.

Now if we could just get the guy to leave the state.

With a record like that, he could probably get a job at the UN.

Um..excuse me. But it appears that $23 million dollars of tax payers money seems to be missing. Or more accurately spent on something other than it was meant to be spent on. How about Texas loans Ronnie Earle to California to head up an investigation to indict 'meathead'? Oh, right, that won't work. Earle only goes after conservatives (which in Texas can still be a member of the democratic party) and isn't very good at getting convictions in the high profile cases. Sorry California, your on your own.

Sad to say the proposal is already on the ballot, I believe. It is a monstrosity that will have far-reaching negative impact on the state. Road to hell, good intentions and all that...
