Mrs. Edwards,
It broke my heart when I heard you have breast cancer. I had breast cancer in August 2003 and in August of this year, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I know everyone's body responds differently to medicines and treatments, but I feel compelled to let you know that most of my doctors feel it was the Tamoxofen that gave me the endometrial cancer. As unbelievable as it seems, I had taken the drug only 8 months when a biopsy discovered the endometrial cancer. Perhaps you are not a candidate for that particular drug, but if you are, please just be aware that the side effects are real. I am now post-menopausal, due to a complete hysterectomy this September, so I take the drug Femara. Only time will tell how well this drug is tolerated by my body, but reportedly, it works better than the Tamoxofen for shrinking tumors and preventing a recurrance. My prayers are with you. I'm not going to say your next few months will be easy, but with the help of your loved ones and your faith in God, you will get through it and be stronger for it.
