's (R) supposedly off-the-record/on-background comments to reporters at a DC steakhouse admitting his ties to the GOP hurt more than help (see WBAL for a post-frakas interview with Steele) have some claiming conspiracy. Conservative Outside The Beltway notes that Steele's camp knew the leak would be posted and calls the dust-up "quite odd."
