Mistaken Identity
Like many people, I’ve set up email alerts for various search phrases, to keep up with mentions elsewhere of myself, this blog, the Atlantic Council, and a handful of research subjects that I keep up with. Occasionally, this produces some amusing results, like this one I received overnight:
NATIONAL BLACK MBA ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2008 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
[...]
James, Joyner, Norris, Roach and Wyche join Immediate Past Chairman Alvin Brown, an advisor to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign . . .
I don’t even have an MBA.

Man, I didn't know you were black...
While it is not amusing per se, your name is involved with another coincidence.
In December of 2006, I attended one James Joyner's funeral where I met his cousin also named James Joyner. A quick Google search on "James Joyner" when I got home is how I found OTB.
You Joyners must be a prolificate bunch.
Be fruitful and multiply someone once said.

I do get the occasional funeral notice. Not that uncommon a name, I guess, especially in the South.
As a NBMBAA member for about 6 years, I officially want to welcome you to our organization. Make sure you attend the convention this year, last year's in Orlando was a pretty good time and while I can't say you won't be in the minority, most people would be surprised by how many non-African Americans attend.
Is there a National White MBA Association? (or Asian, or Hispanic or Native American or South Pacific Islander for that matter??)
Just wondering???
