Monkey Off his Back

I join Bryan in congratulating Phil Mickelson in winning his first Major. Ironically, were it not for the fact that his peak happened to coincide with the emergence of the best golfer ever, Mickelson would already be looked upon as one of the greats having won a few Majors and easily have the most victories of anyone on the Tour.

Bryan also wonders who’s now the “best player never to have won a Major.” Colin Montgomerie?

It was great watching Phil win. Never thought it would come down to the last stroke of the game (barring a playoff) to decide the Masters.

I am not really a Mickelson fan but I found myself cheering for him and when he made that putt and was pumped. He just handled himself so well and played so clutch that you had to cheer him on. Tough on Els though . . .
