Moore Goes to Crawford

Barry Ritholtz e-mails a wire release that has yet to hit the Web.

AP – Moore Seeks Screening Of Fahrenheit 9/11 Near Bush Ranch

Michael Moore’s record-breaking documentary about President George W. Bush is a hit nearly everywhere – except in the rolling hills near his ranch. But Moore and some peace activists want to change that by screening “Fahrenheit 9/11″ somewhere around his ranch in Crawford.
Even the side of a barn will do, they say.

The undisputed box-office champ among documentaries has brought in $93.8 million, surpassing the $84.4 million domestic haul of its closest rival, the IMAX film “Everest.” But Waco area theaters in the largest city closest to Bush’s spread aren’t showing Moore’s film about the president’s decision to go to war in Iraq after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

A reasonably clever publicity stunt.
