Sort of inspires one to think in terms of cautionary tale-style verse... perhaps a series of verses of ZANU-PF's and its leader's atrocities, each ending with:

"My Son, Neither a Robber nor a Mugger Be,
Like that Evil Old Mugger of Zimbabwe..."

Terrible pun - but a terrible situation too.

From the AP article:

"The official inflation rate was put at 165,000 percent by the government in February, but independent estimates put the real figure closer to 4 million percent."

How bad are things when the government propaganda estimates inflation at 165,000 percent, or 450% A DAY - and that propaganda underestimates inflation by a factor of 24?

Using the independent estimates, inflation in Zimbabwe amounts to 1% every 7.8 seconds. That means that in the time it takes to drink a beer, the price of that beer will have doubled!
