Murdock Explains Hillary Fundraiser
Robert Bluey, editor of Human Events online, interviewed Rupert Murdock about his controversial decision to host a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton.
“We think that she’s been effective on state issues and local issues here in a New York. She’s been an effective and good senator. And if people want to come to breakfast for $1,000, they’re welcome. It’s no big deal. It’s not a million-dollar raising. It’s got nothing to do with anything other than her Senate re-election.”

Far be it from me to give advice to an entrepreneur who has built a small newspaper into a multi-gazillion dollar media empire. Still, this explanation is rather odd. Either embrace the decision or rescind it. By taking this halfway approach, any goodwill garnered with the Clinton camp will be minimized while conservatives will still be angry. If you’re going to get involved in politics, pick a side.

Murdock's relationship with Hillary, and any other politician for that matter, is obviously business related in nature. Murdock has simply asked the question, "What can Hillary do for me", has met with her privately, and she has apparently responded to his satisfaction. Wealthy individuals support politicians on both sides of the aisle, so this shouldn't be news.
I don't think Murdoch has as much to fear from negative reaction to this event, as Hillary does.
