My Sole Comment on the GM and Chrysler Loan

When I heard President Bush announce the loan for GM and Chrysler this morning I was strongly reminded of a line from the old John Wayne movie, The Comancheros, delivered by the inimitable Edgar Buchanan:

Major here has told me what your troubles are. I’ve been thinking it over and in light of my forty years experience in legal jurisprudence, I have come to the positive conclusion that there ain’t no way to do this legal and honest… but being good sensible Texans, we’ll do it illegal and dishonest

About the Author: Over the years Dave Schuler has worked as a martial arts instructor, a handyman, a musician, a cook, and a translator. He's owned his own company for the last thirty years and has a post-graduate degree in his field. He comes from a family of politicians, teachers, and vaudeville entertainers. All-in-all a pretty good preparation for blogging.

He has contributed to OTB since November 2006 but mostly writes at his own blog, The Glittering Eye.

I am reminded of a quote from a different movie. This one involves Gunnery Sergeant Highway in the movie Heartbreak Ridege when asked of his opinion of a battle plan.

"For Jabberwock"

Your disambiguation...
Was left all incomplete!
Twas mental masturbation...
That lead to your defeat!

We hear your fervent song...
That "Shrub" was always wrong!
But you simply failed to site...
That "Barry" is always right!

'Tis expected from the Jabberwock...
Words we might enjoy!
Devoid all sense of normal talk...
Beware the Beamish Boy!

[I just couldn't resist!]

Welcome to the new car company "U.S. Motor Corp"

We aim to strip all the comfort features for fuel economy, build them to shoddy specs, and charge the taxpayers double (once for funding it, and twice for being forced to buy them).

Maybe now is a swell time to move to a more rural locale and get a horse? lol
