About the Author: Steve has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and attended graduate school at The George Washington University, leaving school shortly before staring work on his dissertation when his first child was born. Of course, the unstated corollary is that you never mess with any breed of dog that looks something like that...

(Or small poodles. Nasty little buggers. Rats with curly hair.)

While the Dogo Argentino certainly looks fearsome, properly raised they are an amazing breed. They possess strength and courage of mythical proportions and are unmatched in their intended purpose, hunting boar. They are certainly very dangerous to pigs, but they are also very loyal and gentle as companions and guards for the home. My five year old Dogo, Max, can be seen here...

I have yet to meet a Dogo, but from what I've seen and read they look like wonderful dogs. And the same goes for Max. Thanks for the pictures.
