The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune both ran  big pictures of him getting the medal and the Wall Street Journal had a nice article on his accomplishments.

&lt;blockquote&gt;Showing an old man get a medal is hardly going to get people to tune into the evening news shows. &lt;/blockquote&gt;

Lets also remember that this is old news.  Bush signed the congressional legislation in December.

Of course Borlaug seems a more relevant recipient than the last winner, some professional golfer.

Since Sinatra won it in &#039;97, the award has really gone downhill.</description>
