Obama Recovers Some Ground in National Polls

Earlier in the week, Dave Schuler noted that Obama had taken a dip below Clinton in national polling numbers, mostly owing, it would seem, to the Jeremiah Wright situation. It would now seem that the he has recovered, and is back ahead of Clinton 48%-45% (of course, the MOE is +/- 2%, meaning it could be Clinton 47%, Obama 46%).

They have been close during the entire period, so slight fluctuations in the numbers may not really mean that much. Still, this could signal that the Wright situation is starting to die down and that his speech had some impact.

Having lost nothing, he could not recover.
His candidacy was determined by the party bosses long before Iowa.
Unless he commits high crimes and misdemeanors, the candidacy is his. Even in that event the media will cover all they can for their obvious darling!

I know, I know, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"!

This is quite a drama for a pre-written script, I must say.

I have heard many talking heads say that while Clinton's voters would support Obama if he is the nominee, the reverse was not true. I am one Clinton supporter who will not vote for Obama if he is the nominee. This is purely a result of the Rev. Wright affair. Obama has actively supported an ally of Louis Farrakhan, one of this country's leading Anti-Semites. He refuses to disown the man. I was estranged from my own father for years because of racist remarks he made that I could not tolerate. I simply can not vote for a man whose spiritual adviser embraces Anti-Semites.

Or, more to the point, all of the numbers in question are, statistically speaking, essentially the same.

Jesus dined with sinners, he rebuked his own friends and family when they sinned, but never did he disown someone. Or perhaps you wouldn't consider him a good spiritual adviser, I admit that I'm making assumptions here.

I was estranged from my own father for years because of racist remarks he made that I could not tolerate.

Which says more about the problems in your own house than this entire controversy says about Obama's.
