Olbermann vs. Beck

Keith Olbermann is going after Glenn Beck now, requesting Daily Kos readers and viewers of his own show to “Find everything you can about Glenn Beck, Stu Burguiere [Beck's radio producer], and Roger Ailes.” Apparently, Olbermann found this “necessary after this in order to prove various cliches about goose and gander, and to remind everybody to walk softly and carry a big popsicle, and most particularly to save this nation from the Oligarhy of The Stupid.”
Somehow, this reminds me of Mad’s long-running “Spy vs. Spy” series.

That would be the position of those that think entertainers like Olberman, Beck and Rush really control the parties ... the true puppet masters.

I don't think Olbermann has quite the populous following that Rush and O'Reilly do. I don't know how much of a following Beck has since he went bat-shit insane, but he seems more influential now.
I know a lot of Republicans who watch Fox News (I know even more who don't), but I don't know any Democrats that watch MSNBC. I'd bet that Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert have more influence over Democrats than Olbermann does.

On my little blog we have had running fun speculating about future combatants for a revival of the claymation, Celebrity Death Match. For quite a while our premier match was going to be a battle between Michelle Bachman and Maxine Waters. I think we have a new contender here. Glenn cries a little too easily but we will man him up a little for the match.

Is this even worth a post? The trivialization of politics is what has lead the country to its current path.
Looking at this, one realizes that Olbermann doesn't have to do anything to Beck as he is already doing enough to damage himself...

Beck, clown or otherwise, is obviously raising specific factual points. Olberman, being the leftist commentator that he is, is merely doing what all leftists do when the truth they hope to bury manages to escape. They go full scale into personal destruction mode against those that bring the message.
Spy vs. spy implies equality of these very inequal men and their actions.
To equate Beck's actions - exposing the left in all it's evil and Olberman's, trying to hurt him personally because he succeeded, is silly: like comparing the guy who pockets a dollar bill he found on the floor of the bank with the guy who just dynamited the safe.
By the way, Dean was far more honest, saying he supports the racist commie.
The problem with political pundits in general is the same as the problem with "Spy vs.Spy"....
They constantly "blow each other up" without permanent effect, then keep coming back!!
I watch Olbermann, but it's only for entertainment value and I never watch him live. I always record his show and watch it with the "fast forward" button under my thumb to skip the more nonsensical stuff; his "Worst Persons" for instance, since his vocal impersonations are nowhere near as accurate nor as funny as he thinks they are.
Once in a while I am pleasantly surprised when he presents something relevant and useful, but that never happens during one of his pompous "Special Comment" segments, during which he merely displays that he knows how to use a thesaurus.
