OPUS LIVES

Daniel Drezner has several links in celebration of the return of Berke Breathed’s “Opus” today. (Hat tip: Glenn Reynolds)

The strip appeared in the print edition of WaPo today but is not available online there or at any of the usual syndicate websites. Indeed, my copy arrived yesterday (WaPo delivers the Sunday inserts on Saturdays). Let’s just say the debut strip wasn’t worth the ten year wait. Indeed, it was much more remniscent of “Outland,” which I never cared for, than “Bloom County,” which I consider an all-time classic.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

Wow, I loved it. Although Bloom County was better than Outland, Opus is Opus is Opus!

Sadly, it did not appear in the Advertiser.

I despise the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel right now. They print racist crap like Boondocks and OLD Far Side strips, but no Opus.

Very strange indeed. One would think that'd been an instant add.
