OTB Latenight – Apocalypse Edition

Pink Floyd provides the eerily fitting soundtrack to this hi-def apocalypse:

About the Author: Dodd, who used to run a blog named ipse dixit, is an attorney, a veteran of the United States Navy, and a fairly good poker player. He can kill a mime using only his thumb.

He joined the staff at OTB in May 2007.

pretty but I think it was pretty physically inaccurate. An impact of that size should have ripped off a good portion of the atmosphere at which point the oceans start boiling. And those buildings standing at the end? Yeah forget about that. They'd all be done with something that large hitting the earth. Something the size of texas hitting the earth at the typical velocities you find in the solar system would kill close to everything and that rock looked to be closer to the size of our moon (maybe it was supposed to be our moon).
