I was working in Country Radio (990/WNYR) when this one came out. Spun it quite a bit, actually. Never figured we'd have a president who adopts the lyrics as offiical WH policy, though.
I love some of Haggard's lyrics and song.
The simple words, that proclaim simple things, are sometimes tougher to digest while throwing down a case of beer than the great literary masters while sipping a glass of wine.
Don't get me wrong, I love both, but I seen to be throwing down more beers lately than sipping wine.
"Never figured we'd have a president who adopts the lyrics as offical WH policy, though."
You know that has to piss the current-day left off. A country music singer, who spent ten years in prison, wrote a song about them and predicted their current day behavior almost thirty years ago.
YEE HAW!!!
