OTB on CNN and Hotline

My chart on congressional relatives’ pay was discussed on the “Inside the Blogs” segment on CNN’s “Inside Politics.” The Political Teen has the video.

Update: The same entry caught the attention of National Journal’s Hotline (subscribers only).

>> From the AP numbers, right-leaning Outside the Beltway’s James Joyner puts together an “admittedly crude” data table to find out which member’s family members are paid the most. DeLay comes in 3rd. Adds Joyner: “The bottom line is that, unless DeLay’s wife and daughter are not actually doing the jobs for which they’re being paid, there’s nothing unusual going on here. I’m no fan of DeLay’s but this doesn’t strike me as problematic within the confines of the current system.”

Thanks to Jim Burton of Public Opinion Strategies for calling my attention to the latter.

OTB on CNN

My post yesterday on the criticism President Bush has received for not speaking out more on the Red Lake shootings was featured in the “Inside the Blogs” segment on CNN’s Inside Politics yesterday. Trey Jackson has the video, which also features The Corner, Red State, TCS, and others.

Thanks for speaking out on this. Politics and religion were in play over the Schiavo case, a case which should have been left to the state courts and the families involved. The reason why Jeb Bush doesn't step in is because he knows politically the people of Florida would revolt. We don't have that many radical right-wing extremists here who would stand for what he tried to pull earlier.
