OTB Radio Debuts Tonight at 7

OTB Radio I’ve been invited to host a weekly one hour radio program for BlogTalkRadio. The show, which I have cleverly dubbed OTB Radio, will debut tonight at 7 Eastern.

My guest will be Ed Morrissey of Captain’s Quarters, who is also the political director at BlogTalkRadio and the host of a weekdaily show of his own. We’ll be discussing recent hot button news issues and, if anyone’s listening, taking calls at (646) 716-7030.

If you’re unable to listen live, the show will be archived and available for download or streaming from the site.

UPDATE: The first show’s in the can and archived here. The audio quality on my end isn’t great but it’s audible. The conversation is interesting enough, although I hope my show hosting skills improve over time. I’ll try to refrain from saying “sort of” as much in future episodes.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

James;
Take this from somebody who used to make his living behind a microphone:

it's a different world, one to open that mike. Some of the smartest people I know sound like absolute idiots once they get behind the microphone. On the other hand some of the dumbest people I know sound like they're in their natural environment behind the Mike. (Which is why I always laugh when I see some folks making a big deal of of GWB's on-mike flubs...)

You don't have much to worry about in that area. Besides which, it your content that comes through.

Thanks, Bithead. It'll take a while to get my groove, I think. I've done a bit of radio from the other side of the mike but hosting (sans producer, no less) is different. Plus, I'm much more comfortable when I can see my audience or at least the guest/host.
