I’m on vacation in Miami through tomorrow evening, so posting from me will be much lighter than normal. The Traffic Jam linkfests will appear at 16:15 Eastern both days as well as the occasional post. My co-bloggers may fill the slack with some material of their own.

I’m headed to the Bahamas for a short vacation. I don’t expect to do any posting until Wednesday morning. My guest bloggers will be picking up the slack until then.

I’m headed out of town early in the morning (20th High School reunion–my, how time flies) and won’t return until Tuesday afternoon. I’ll have computer access and may post the occasional something and will check e-mail occasionally, although neither with my usual frequency.

Enjoy your trip. I too will be blogless for a weekend cub scout camping trip. But for both our readers I want to mention a candidate that no one is talking about. Let's not forget Pat Paulsen 4 President, even though he passed on, his campaign shall live forever. Find out where he stands on everything from Auto Safety to the Draft.
My computer is tango uniform at the moment, with some sort of problem involving the motherboard. Fortunately, the contents of the hard drive are intact, if only accessible for minutes or seconds at a time before the machine overheats and freezes. Dell is going to replace the offending parts in the next day or two but, in the meantime, I’m without computer access at home.
Perhaps this is the excuse to buy that notebook I’ve been thinking about getting. . . .

If you have Windows 2000 on a Dell tower and installed one of their recent service packs -- some time within the last six months -- then that could be it. I've had the same problem and the only way to solve it is uninstall the SP. You will need boot disks to do it. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Lots of unfun errands after work and then a ‘net outage once I got home. I may muster up energy to do some more blogging later tonight.

Family is due in town in a bit and we’ll be doing the DC touristy thing through Sunday. Blogging will be light to non-existent over the weekend.

So long as you spend the weekend in atonement for the famine it's ok.
Light to zero blogging the rest of the evening. I’m off to grab dinner and make a brief appearance at Blogorama. DC area bloggers–or anyone who can get there in time, I guess–are invited to attend. It starts at 7 p.m. at “Rendezvous Lounge, conveniently located at the scenic intersection of 18th Street and Kalorama.” (Yes, you were given advance notice.)

Oh sure give advance notice and quash my ability to complain about not getting invited...
Posting will be light today. I’ve got events in DC this morning and this evening. The current plan is to come home in between to catch part of the ‘Bama-UConn game but I may just stay downtown if the morning event goes long.

Posting will be light today as I get settled into the new job. Not only will I likely be busy inprocessing and whatnot, I suspect it’ll be a couple of days before I’ve even got a ‘net account set up at the office. I’m led to believe that I’ll be able to compose the Traffic Jam at some point before leaving, however.
I’ll almost certainly not be checking e-mail until this evening.

It only took 2 weeks for me to get a computer and a network account at my new job. I hear I'm one of the lucky ones, it's been worse for others...
Congrats on the new job! I'm glad something came up for you so soon. My husband has been out of work for over a year - although for much of that time he's been back in school. He just started looking again about a month ago - and hasn't gotten even a nibble. It's discouraging, but eventually things will pick up.
James,
That is ok, I just started at the primary site for my new job. Luckily, the accounts from my old job migrated or else I would have to wait over 3 weeks to get new accounts.

The power went out whilst I was in the midst of compiling the Traffic Jam. More bloggy goodness will be forthcoming later, presuming the electricity continues to flow.

Well, that's a bummer. Glad you're OK, I was a little worried because you usually explain non-blogging plans ahead of time.

Off again to fight the DC traffic to attend the second and final day of the Fletcher Conference. Most of the Joint Chiefs, including the Chairman, are scheduled to speak today.
Blogging and the Beltway Traffic Jam linkfest will resume this afternoon barring complications.

I’m attending a conference hosted by the Institute of Foreign Policy Analysis in DC today. I’ll either be back around 5 if I forgo the last panel or it will be 10 or so if I attend the panel and then stay for the dinner, etc. rather than fighting traffic for two hours.
In the meantime, amuse yourself with the many fine blogs on the blogroll.
