OVERTAKEN BY EVENTS
Tom McMahon writes about an exceedingly rare edition of Life magazine: The publisher’s advance copies of the November 29, 1963 edition featuring Navy quarterback Roger Staubach, who won the Heisman trophy as a junior and eventually went on to a Hall of Fame career with the Dallas Cowboys. Certain events on November 22, ironically enough in Dallas, made it necessary to replace the cover and entire contents of that issue.

I’d also be interested in looking at Theodore White’s piece, “Negro Demands: Are they Realistic?” advertised on the cover blurb.
