Paul Krugman Gets a Blog

Somewhat ironically, on the same day that the New York Times announced the end of its two-year TimesSelect experiment of charging for his column, Paul Krugman has started a blog so that people can get more of his insights for free.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

Seems to me that the two might be related. I wouldn't be surprised if the NYT put a kibbosh on any ideas of Krugman's to have a blog as long as they were wanting people to pay for his writing. Or maybe Krugman was worried that the content of one or the other may be blurred and didn't want to have any copyright issues.
