It would have been nice if Kerry had gotten in line with everyone else, but I think it's understandable that he gets cuts. Is he going to the funeral? Does the entire Senate get an invite?

With shuttle buses now slated to ferry people back and forth from RFK Stadium (during off-peak hours of 11:30pm to 6am) this week, he's right. The crowds in DC will be enormous.

I went to the library on Monday and arrived there before the crowds were as large as they were later on in the day and we still had a four hour wait. You know long lines - people tend to get irritated at small things. Not so. Most people were kind and considerate. The only time things got a bit heated were at the security checkpoint where people were told they couldn't bring their cameras, so they'd either have to go back to their car, or leave it at the checkpoint. Those security guards were working very hard.

The wait, as so many have said, was well worth it. The power in that room was amazing, and I'm so grateful I was able to pay my respects to President Reagan in person, along with my two sons.

June the 12th, 2004

To Mrs Nancy Reagan & to Mr. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger,
State Capitol Building, Sacramento, CA 95814, Phone: 916-445-2841, Fax: 916-445-4633, governor@governor.ca.gov

Object: Proposition of collaboration to develop in California the treatment of Brain cell degenerative diseases (as frequent & severe as Age Related Macular Degeneration & Alzheimer).

Dear Mrs Nancy Reagan, Dear Mr the Governor,

1) THE FACTS:
·	I have been very touched by the death of President R. Reagan, who left the USA & indeed planet earth at the highest level of peace and development since so many years. So please accept my best “sympathy” (word issued from Latin “sin patior” = “I suffer with”).
·	As you can see in my attached Resume: I am an unusual medical researcher who did 16 first medical inventions & developments and who has been granted a US Green Card for his "Extraordinary Ability" in medical research.
·	I have already performed, in France, Medical research about A.R.M.D. = Age Related Macular Degeneration : a degenerative disease from visual BRAIN CELLS (the cones), which, in my opinion, react JUST LIKE standard BRAIN CELLS, and I have observed in my practice not only very good improvement of ARMD (first cause of blindness in the Elderly) but also dramatic improvements of the so frequently associated Alzheimer disease.
·	I now consider, after working for 10 years in this field, that the efficient preventive & already curative new treatment of A.R.M.D. (Age Related Macular Degeneration) appears to fortunately be also efficient in the degeneration of standard Brain cells, as in Alzheimer disease (= 2/3 of dementia, i.e. some 5% of the population over 60 years in most western countries). .
·	This work is completed and will be published after a necessary trial in North America to support the preliminary data.
·	I think, due to the logical correlation between ARMD & ALZHEIMER disease, that I have fortunately already found an efficient preventive therapeutic approach of those two degenerative BRAIN CELL diseases. (ARMD & Alzheimer), and I imagine some other good ideas on how to improve declared cases, with more complex procedures.
·	I imagine that you, Mrs Nancy Reagan and you Mr the Governor, will be pleased to make available to your citizen and also to our humanity as a whole, an efficient treatment for those two types of severe Brain cells degeneration’s?

2) THE SUGGESTION:
So, dear Mrs Reagan, dear Mr the Governor, I would like to respectfully propose to you my skill, talent and significant experience in this field for your consideration to develop in the USA / California the treatment of Alzheimer (and other Brain cells degenerative Diseases).
My beloved wife and I are ready to move to California, where we could meet the possibilities to develop the best preventive & curative treatment for those severe diseases as soon as it is convenient for you.

With this hope, and again with all my “sympathy” after the death of President Ronald Reagan, please consider us, dear Mrs Reagan, dear Mr the Governor, as ready to assist you in your new endeavours,
Very sincerely yours

Dr. Francois Pithon M.D., RCOPHTH, Consultant Eye Surgeon, Medical researcher.

Attached: My resume & My Reference as “Alien of extraordinary ability” from the US immigration & Naturalisation office.

Last Words on Reagan around the Blogosphere
Seeing a soldier - these are the toughest men I know - standing in salute with tears running down his cheek lets you know just how moving this ceremony was.
