PETA – Stripperella

This is among the odder things I’ve seen today: PETA has launched an ad campaign to endorse two cartoon vegetables, Chris P. Carrot and Colonel Corn, for President and Vice President, respectively. It gets better:

“This pole dancer will be dancing at the polls on Election Day when Chris P. Carrot is voted our next president. Don’t just eat your veggies—vote for ’em!”

—Stripperella, star of self-titled Spike TV series (and Pamela Anderson’s alter ego)

What exactly they hope to accomplish with this is unclear.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

It's just a little perk for those who are dropping acid when they hear about the ad campaign. Just a little treat for them--for to them, it will make sense.

They were encouraged by the fact that more people didn't point and laugh at Kuchinich when he got unreal people endorsements. Although I would like to thank PETA; their Kentucky Fried Cruelty billboard reminded me that I hadn't had any fried chicken lately, so I went out and bought some. It was so good that I didn't even mail them the bones...

I wonder if the Veg candidate threatens to peel away some Dem voters.

The more the merrier! Give the loony left enough alternatives and none of them will have any chance of winning. I've even considered campaigning for Kucinich in the hope of suckering in a few more wackos.

I wonder what Colonel Corn's Vietnam war record was like? Hmmm...

I've got to come up with a scam of my own. These guys and Nader are making out like bandits, while I'm still practicing law, and still not getting it right.
