jb:

You are right, the NYT does have value. It can be used as an alternative when TP is not available, however it is a little scratchy.

My god folks, is it always the damn democrats fault? The MSM? Come on, when Clinton was president, the NYT slammed him relentlessly and daily. Now that King George is in power, any slamming of the POTUS is considered unpatriotic. Please examine your history and understand what the value of the press is!

New York Times’ Iraqi Border Boondoggle

The New York Times apparently didn’t fact check this story about [non]forged ballots in Iraq. Ouch. Confederate Yankee is on it.
	Via CQ.
	UPDATE: James Joyner has more.
Ed Morrissey thinks the fact that the borders are closed makes it a slam...

Second thoughts:

Maybe the NYT is making an attempt to make Senator Carl Levins prediction of today come true.

Levis said that the Iraq elections would lead to a civil war in Iraq.

I assume that Levin is speaking from a Democrat experience base. The Democrats have been promoting Civil War right here in the US since they lost in the 2000 and 2004 elections. Right now the country is about split down the middle with the Democrats hate, discontent, and untruthful rehtoric. They are engaged in every underhanded tactic imaginable to tear this country apart in order to regain power, The democrats have discredited out fighting troops and promoted defeat in the face of our enemy. The have yet to pass an opportunity to devide the people with their untruthful statements about our country, its people, our military and our policy for fighting terror. They have now stooped to a new low by waving the white flag at our enemy and the sorry part of their tactics they actually find a good number of unfaithful Americans that beleive their rehtoric and follow their lead.

So, I can say without doubt that Senator Levin and the rest of his democrat buddies and speaking from experience.

The NYT is famous for being untruthful, so why should anyone put ant stock whatsoever in anything that comes from that rag.

When I heard early that there were two conflicting stories, with the Gray (Crazy) Lady's story being the more sensational, I was reminded of last week's rumor de jour, that Sen. Liberman would soon be replacing Rumsfeld as DEFSEC.

My reaction early this morning was that this was quite a dilemma -- when the NYT reports something and "Reuters" reports it, which do you believe?

I heard the same sentiment voiced early this afternoon on the radio. Mybe my blog is show prep for the guy who claims to be show prep for the rest of the media.

Or maybe right-wing blowhard minds think alike. Heh.
