The entitlement state has replaced personal responsibility for too many black Americans. So-called civil rights leaders are too quick to blame racism for dysfunction within the black community, rather than an urban culture that often rejects education and glorifies vulgarity.

Obviously you have no idea what I, or for that matter you, are talking about.

My point is that black America needs opportunity to be successful. Not entitlements. And yes, it does seem the plantation dems would rather have the government help them than have them help themselves.

This is always the Republican spin on blacks. Welfare bums who won't work and just want a hand out. Until it stops, Republicans will never have much in the way of support from blacks. At least you didn't go into the old "Democratic plantation" mode.

Maybe Madmatt should have written a letter before the speech to tell the President what HIS concerns are... But really, did you even read the transcript? Education, home and business ownership, family values. These are the things that will help their community solve the most pressing problems.

So he doesn't address rising poverty, crime, voter disenfranchisement or increases in racial tension, but he does bring up the inheritance tax that will affect about 50 people of color this year....just the right note!!!!!
