President Dick Cheney

The Democrats’ worst nightmare will occur this weekend: Dick Cheney will become assume the powers of the presidency. For a little while, at least.

President Bush will undergo a routine colonoscopy Saturday, and will transfer power to Vice President Dick Cheney during the procedure, expected to take about two and a half hours, the chief White House spokesman said.

Cheney was Acting President for a little over two hours back in 2002.
