In case you’re wondering about the little white box atop the right sidebar, yes I put the password and userid up there on purpose ;) [Update: Many online newspapers and other sources require registration even for their "free" content. I've registered most that I use as otbblog/jamesotb. Some require an e-mail address be the log-in; for those, I use james -at- outsidethebeltway -dot- com. ]
Feel free to use those to get in to the NYT and other places I link that are free but require registration. Some readers are reluctant to register, either out of laziness or fear of getting spammed. So, feel free to use these which I’ve set up for that specific purpose. If you have cookies enabled, you can use them even if you’re not following an OTB link.
And, by the way, no I don’t use that password or userid for any other purpose. It won’t unlock the keys to my finances or anything. Heh.

He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. Other sites only occasionaly ask your gender, birthday, and zip code, and don't have you register (but if you clear out your browser's cookies, you will have to enter this again.)
The Washington Post now thinks that I'm 50 years older than I am, live in a different state, and of the opposing gender. HA!
