Romney Dirty Tricks, Novak’s Sloppy Reporting
The Romney campaign has been up to some dirty tricks, Bob Novak reports:
Published reports that Fred Thompson soon will withdraw from the Republican presidential contest and endorse Sen. John McCain have been traced in part to Mitt Romney’s campaign, trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson.
The above, it should be noted, is the entirety of Novak’s report. While it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it were true, there’s rather a lot missing:
- Traced by whom?
- In part? What’s the rest of the story?
- Who is/are Novak’s source(s) and what is his/her/their agenda?

Great questions! Why were questions like that not asked before the malicious report about Fred Thompson was published, just hours before the first caucus?
No one seemed to be bothered about that!
Uhhh, James, why do you even pay attention to Novak--remember your post from last week where you quoted Novak's column?
He was discussing an anonymous poll with an "oversized sample" that said Romney was going to win Iowa and McCain was going to come in third!
Novak is joke and deserves no attention.
