Stevens was removed by the voters in Alaska.

But would have been removed in any case. THe issue there was not Stevens holding his seat, but Republicans holding the seat for an appointment on his being removed after the election. Stevens would have been gone either way. Of course, you know that, but you'll never dare say it.

Now you are in line with the historical record. Not putting up a battle while the Democrats cleaned up a crooked GOP White House is a far cry from the GOP stepping up to the plate to clean up their own mess, which is what you originally claimed they did.

And I note that you have completely ducked my examples of recent GOP crooks who were not dealt with by the GOP.

It is also worth noting that it was basically a combination of the Democratic controlled House Judiciary Committee and Democrat Sam Ervin and his commttee that led to Nixon's removal from office.

Republicans had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the realization that Nixon was, in fact, a crook. It was not until the resignation of Elliot Richardson that they really were ready to do what needed to be done.
