Guys, please actually read what I wrote. I didn't say there was no god. I said I can find no evidence for an "interactive" god of the type you espouse. "Look around", yes, as I look around what I see is the world in all it's wonders. Do I see the works of a supreme being that interacts with it? No. I ask again, where is the evidence of god's personal intervention here on earth?

I should pray huh? I've seen enough people in pain and suffering to know that prayer is not answered. If that were true, we would live in a perfect world because of the sheer magnitude of prayers that wish for world peace, end of hunger and disease etc. Are any of these prayers answered? And remember, it wasn't too long ago that people were building temples to Zeus and Athena complete with prayer, ceremony, clerics etc. All of a sudden what they worshipped for hundreds if not thousands of years is just BS? Charles, if you read the entire thread you will see how we got here. I originally started by saying that human suffering might be better served if all of the anti/pro abortion efforts were turned towards something that could make a real and larger impact on the world. What I got back, was the same old gobbledygook about God and the unborn child. Naturally, it degenerated from there into my standard response "what god" and "what god would allow this."

I don't believe these are impossible questions, I believe they are simply personal. that's why I get so bent when people want to inflict their POV on me. In other words, you don't want an abortion, don't get one but please don't presume that your decision applies or should apply to me. If that were true, I've got plenty of ideas I'd like to have implemented.

Get a grip. An embryo is not a baby. A baby is someONE. Embryos are aborted all the time, just ask anyone who's trying to get pregnant. Miscarriages happen very frequently even late in the term. Who are you going to blame for that, god?

Also, my opinion is that there are too damn many people on the planet already and it's only going to get worse. What then? We're due for 6.5 billion this summer. How about 10 billion, 20 billion? At some point your arguments will fail to meet with reality and we will all be limited in the number of children we can have both through sterilization and abortion. Not now, but soon. What will you say then? Will it still be murder or a matter of survival?
