Selling Them The Rope

Jeff Goldstein thinks the International Herald Tribune (owned by the New York Times) might be taking entrepreneurialism a wee bit too far when it starts accepting ads “seeking bids from corporations willing to build nuclear reactors for Iran.” He also sees some incongruity in their willingness to do that while inveighing against running the infamous Danish Muhammad cartoons.

Well, sure, if you want to get technical about it. But I would remind Jeff of the old adage that a foolishly consistent, small minded hobgoblin and his money are soon parted. Or something like that.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.
